First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Knockouts Haircuts for Men.
Hair Stylist
It's more of a get-to-know-you thing, really. They're trying to get a feel for your personality, how confident you are, and your availability. It's pretty chill. Usually, there are at least two managers interviewing you. You'll be expected to do some demo cuts after the first interview.
- What's your experience level with zero fades, and are you open to learning?
- Is your transportation reliable?
- Can you work on Sundays?
Salon Manager
I had a phone interview and they offered me the job. They asked me to come in to try on the uniform and sign paperwork. I told the manager I'm a big lady. When I got there, she made me try on her own shirt. She apologized for the deodorant stains on it. I tried it on over my clothes, and her face said it all. She said she couldn't offer me the job because of my size. Any good lawyers out here? Sounds like Knockouts doesn't like anyone who fits a 2x comfortably. I'm from Texas, everything's bigger here!
- Can you tell me about your customer interaction skills?
- How would you feel about wearing the uniform?
Manager
show up looking professional with hair, makeup, and clothes coordinated. Be as honest as possible. If you have any restrictions, let us know upfront. Have someone available for a demo haircut and let us know if you are comfortable with pedicures and manicures.
- In five years, where do you envision your career path leading?
