It was a lot of steps: first a screening call, then an interview with a team member, followed by a writing test, a presentation of that writing test, and finally an interview with a panel. I get that companies want to find the right fit, but honestly, this felt a bit like overkill and too specific for what they were looking for. One of the managers in the last interview asked me super specific things about retail copywriting experience, which I don't have. They also never asked me to present my own portfolio or talk through my thought process on it; the whole focus was on Knix, their writing test, and the retail industry. After a few days of silence, I saw they reposted the job. Then they got back to me, saying they were moving on with other candidates. The whole thing took about 3 weeks.

I recently interviewed with Knix and I must say the experience was great. They have an off-camera policy for the first round which as far as I can tell is not the industry norm. While they do it to ensure fairness, as a candidate not having to show my face makes the interview process somewhat less intimidating. The interview felt more like a conversation. In those brief 30 minutes I spoke about the books I was reading and loving, the kind of people I see myself working with and the importance of diversity of thought in the workplace. For those who are at the interviewing stages with Knix, you would benefit as much from company research as you would from getting in touch with your internal journey as a writer. Good luck :)

Had a phone call with HR which was good, then a zoom meeting with the manager. The next part would have been a presentation/assignment, and then showing that to the team. The second interview was a bit tougher, I got the vibe the company was in flux and people were impatient.
