Applied online and it took 3 weeks. I had 2 interview rounds, both were 40 min zoom calls. They were conversational and experience-related, focusing on my working style and domain knowledge.

I had an initial video call with Stacy Dean Stephens, the VP of sales, and one of his team members. It went well, so Stacy connected me with the CEO, Bill. Bill wanted me to fly in for an in-person interview, even though I said I wasn't planning to travel. He kept pushing for it, so I agreed to book travel, assuming I'd be reimbursed. I flew in and rented a car, which took up over 8 hours of my day. Bill was rude from the start, and the interview didn't go as hoped. He said some outlandish things. Afterwards, when I submitted my expense report, Bill claimed he never agreed to pay for travel and had never reimbursed anyone before. I contacted Stacy, who sided with Bill. This makes me question the company culture. I'm disappointed in Knightscope and Bill, the CEO, for their deceitful practices.

I had 3 Skype interviews, one after the other, one per day. First, I spoke with the CEO, and then I had two interviews with lead engineers. Each of these interviews was around 45 minutes long. They mostly asked about my past experiences, my personality, and my temperament to see if I would be a good fit. We also talked about past projects I'd worked on and my skill set. They threw in a couple of hypothetical questions about different scenarios too.
