First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe.
Cashier
I got there a bit early and had to wait for someone to be available. When one person left, I had to go up and say I was there for an interview because no one called me. I interviewed with one of the partners inside the cafe; they were opening in a week and hiring a crew. Others were interviewed around the cafe too. The interview was short, about 10 minutes, and they asked me a few questions. If you're confident and pay attention, it should go well. They said I was a good candidate and sent me off.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment here?
Cashier
I applied to be a lead cashier at two different Kneaders. Neither time did they call me for an interview. I had to go in person and give a manager my resume to even be considered. After the first interview, I didn't hear anything. A week or two later I called and they said they wanted to go in a different direction and I didn't get the job. The second time, I never heard back after the interview. I kept checking in with management and after 2-3 weeks, a manager told me they didn't need the position for another 3-4 months and to check back then. I wouldn't suggest trying to get a job at Kneaders. They weren't professional and their communication was bad.
- Which kitchen utensil would you be and why?
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- What are your biggest strengths?
Director of Marketing
I spoke with an HR representative based in Salt Lake City. The conversation was very pleasant and easy-going. I didn't get a clear reason for why I wasn't selected to move forward, but it felt like they might have been looking to make an internal hire.
- What are your thoughts on our interview process?
- Tell me about your experience in marketing.
Kitchen Staff
It was a really quick and easy process, almost not even an interview. They mostly just asked about my availability and when I could work. They were pretty accommodating with the schedule.
- What's your availability?
- When are you able to work?
- What paperwork do you need to complete?
