First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kluever & Platt.
Paralegal
I saw the paralegal position online and applied. I got a call for an interview with an attorney who handles the initial screenings. He asked me questions about my resume and work history. Then he talked about the firm and its departments. The interview was about 30 minutes. Two weeks later, I got an email for a second interview. This time, I met with the first attorney again and two others. They asked the same questions as before. I asked them to explain the job duties more, and the original attorney said they were trying to see which candidate would fit best for different roles, not just the paralegal position. This bothered me because I applied for a specific paralegal role, not a general admin job.
- What prompted you to leave your previous employment?
Paralegal
The hiring process was a complete disaster. The partner's secretary, who was incredibly rude, arrogant, and snobby, handled the hiring. The entire office felt very unwelcoming, and the management was a joke, quite demeaning. To top it off, I was interviewed for one position but hired for a role I had no experience in, and then subsequently berated.
- The questions asked were quite strange and had no bearing on the paralegal role.
Paralegal
Since I was hired as a temp-to-permanent, I only had one initial interview. For other staff members who were looking to be permanently hired, the process involved up to three interviews in the office with multiple partners and attorneys.
- Tell me about your experience.
- What can you bring to Kluever & Platt?
Court Runner
It was a typical one on one interview with the office hiring supervisor. Then, a second supervisor joined in. They asked standard questions about my education and experience. They did most of the talking. I kept asking to make sure I was applying for a court runner job and what the day to day duties were.
- Can you tell me about your experience working for blah, blah, blah?
