The interview process included a recruiter screen, a hiring manager call, and panel interviews that covered a case study, SQL coding, and stakeholder interaction, followed by an offer. The recruiter was helpful and explained each interview stage and expectations clearly. The product analytics hiring team was also pleasant, and I generally felt comfortable during the interviews. However, the overall hiring experience was negative due to how the role was managed. I was initially assured that the salary range for the position had been increased and met my expectations. But after completing the interviews, they couldn't offer the same base salary that was previously discussed. I also found out the hiring manager had changed without me being informed, which made me feel the role might be more junior than presented and that I was being shopped around between teams. Additionally, speaking with team members suggested the role would focus more on reactive analytics using SQL rather than predictive modeling or AI, essentially making it a 'SQL monkey' position. A significant concern was the lack of diversity on the hiring team, which is important to me for career growth.

I had a technical interview for about an hour with a team member. We discussed basic probability and coding, and then I did a mini case study. I didn't move on to the next round, but the recruiter was super helpful and gave me feedback on how to improve, which I really appreciated!

So I was first contacted by a recruiter on Stackoverflow, had a chat, and then they just ghosted me. I followed up after weeks of silence, and they claimed they 'dropped the ball,' which felt unprofessional and vague. That was it for the first attempt. A few months later, I applied online, and the same person reached out again. The first step this time was a screening test. I submitted my work and followed up again to see if they received it and had any feedback, but I'm still waiting. I've officially withdrawn my application. After this happening twice, it seems Klaviyo's recruitment process has some serious issues that need fixing to attract good talent. Klaviyo, if your hiring plans change mid-recruitment, at least be considerate to applicants who showed interest and spent time on assignments. It seems like the hiring team changes their minds or something is going on. Be considerate; you'll definitely lose applicants if this continues. Until then, I'd suggest avoiding this company.
