Technical Behavioral

It was a two-round interview process. First, I had a technical interview with the skip manager, where they asked about my contracting knowledge and previous work. Then, I had a second round with the SVP which felt more like a cultural fit check. They asked about my past experience and my long-term alignment goals, with no technical questions.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

Klarity's interview was really well-organized, clear, and upfront. I liked how deep the talks went, covering technical stuff and bigger picture strategy with managers. The team was cool and got back to me fast, especially Ben the recruiter who kept me in the loop. The on-site case study they had was a good one and fit the job well. I also got to chat with the CTO on Zoom and get a better idea of where the company is headed and what they expect. I ended up taking another offer because it was a better long-term fit and the pay was structured differently, but I still thought Klarity was a great place with a solid team and mission. I'd tell others to check them out, especially if you're into fast-moving startups.

Behavioral Technical

This was one of the worst screening calls I've ever had with a recruiter. The recruiter hopped in with his camera off and didn't try to interact with me like a normal human being—it was all very mechanical and transactional. Then we dove into a 30-minute interrogation that left me feeling rather on edge/uncomfortable the entire time. There was no conversation at all, just being pepper-sprayed with rapid-fire questions. The recruiter talked so fast it felt like I was listening to a voice note at 2× speed, and he spoke in this heightened, almost manic tone of voice — as if someone had a gun to his head forcing him to do the interview. I definitely see why you're looking to hire a Lead Recruiter. Godspeed!

Coding

This was my first coding screen, and honestly, it was pretty unpleasant. The interviewer seemed either really awkward or just arrogant. They mentioned that interviewing was just something they had to do. Every time I asked a question or needed clarification, they would laugh and breathe heavily into the microphone. Sometimes, they'd just give up on answering and provide a vague, unhelpful response. It didn't create a good environment or give me a good impression as a candidate, especially for a first technical interaction. I'm wondering if this is typical for the initial technical contact.
