Applied through LinkedIn and a recruiter reached out to discuss my experience and skills. Then, I had a Zoom interview with the campaign and creative executive, the direct manager for the role. We discussed my experience and the role details. The recruiter followed up to schedule more Zoom interviews over two days with a brand marketer, geo expansion manager, marketing communications manager, and the junior graphic designer. Since the role involved mentoring the junior designer on printing and packaging, I had to repeat information multiple times, which was tiring and required me to miss work. After the interviews, the recruiter sent a take-home Photoshop test requiring me to modify product packaging and remove items from images. I was given a week but completed it in one night and received two DoorDash gift cards as compensation. I found the test unnecessary given my experience and portfolio. The recruiter mentioned I'd hear back early the following week, but I never did. After waiting a week, I emailed them and was informed they chose another candidate. I was disappointed as I thought I had the job after the team interviews and acing the test.

The interview process was a bit chaotic, starting with issues finding parking and the entrance. While the controller and accounting manager were pleasant, the controller became flustered when asking accounting questions, sometimes making sarcastic remarks if answers weren't immediate, which made things awkward. The onsite interview took about 1.5 hours, and I was told a decision would be emailed. However, I never heard back weeks later. It was a memorable experience, just be ready for the unusual aspects and the smell.

I had an initial screening call, then two more rounds of interviews with the hiring manager and a stakeholder. The interviews covered my technical skills, soft skills, and behavioral questions.
