The interview team was great, but the whole process was short. Lots of the questions seemed too simple and were really easy. It doesn't take a lot of critical thinking. As long as you answer professionally, you'll be fine.

It's tough getting a fulltime teaching gig because there are way more people with English MAs and PhDs than available positions. I applied for three years straight while teaching part-time. The process has three steps. First, you submit a teaching portfolio with your philosophy, lesson plans, and a video of you teaching (or you can teach live for the committee). They also want to see published work, though KCC is really focused on teaching. The second stage is a phone interview. It was a bit strange because I see most of the committee members often, but they said it was to make things fair for people applying from out of town. One person even interviewed from Peru via Skype. I didn't make it to the final face-to-face interview.

There were 4 people in the room asking me questions which could come off as being nerve racking, but I think they did a good job at taking turns asking questions and not overwhelming me. I received a call back to ask for references a few days after.
