This was a very long and demanding interview process. You should be ready to teach a lesson. I recommend teaching an elementary lesson that you are very familiar with. Pick something easy that everyone knows and understands.

I started with a quick phone call with the principal. Then, they wanted a video of me teaching. After that, I had to fly to Austin for the main interview and to do a sample lesson. The in-person part went from 8 am to 3:30 pm, though it felt like it could have been shorter. I watched a class, taught my lesson, and then talked about it with two assistant principals. After eating lunch alone in the teacher's lounge, I spent an hour doing open observations, basically walking around the school looking for classes that were happening. Following that, I had a formal interview with the principal, and then I met with a panel of three teachers. I then taught my lesson again to a different group of students, and debriefed with the principal about it. She said I'd hear back by the end of the week, and I got an email right at the end of Friday.

It was super simple. They're looking for teachers who are really passionate and know their stuff content-wise. You gotta be good with students and able to run your classroom smoothly. Just be responsive and professional, and make sure you know the area and are cool with the commute.
