Applied through portal, then had a phone screening with a recruiter. Recruiter said there were no openings and she'd connect if any opened up, which felt like a waste of time. A few days later, I was connected with a school leader from KIPP NYC. Had an interview and demo lesson with school leaders. Then it got crazy with over 10 people on the Zoom interview, including a gym teacher, which felt excessive and interrogative. Different people kept joining and leaving, asking questions unrelated to my interests. The principal was making faces during my demo/answers. Given the recruiter's initial screening for a closed position, the overwhelming interview panel, and the negative vibe, I don't expect a callback.

Recruiter got in touch about an HR Associate Director position. I had a phone screen with them, then they suddenly scheduled a video interview with a Senior HR Director. That seemed to go well, and I was told the next steps were an in-person meeting with the same Senior HR Director and then another in-person meeting with a different senior leader. After that, I got some confusing info about next steps and no real feedback.

The school environment was so warm, everyone is kind and accommodating. The principal seems like a great leader and the staff seems very happy. The interview process is a full day, so make sure to plan for that. After the full day interview, there will be a background check and then an offer.

This interview had way too many questions, they seemed more interested in my loyalty than my qualifications. On the plus side, the questions weren't that hard, but I'd rather not be asked so many because it makes me nervous and I get off track.
