Did a virtual interview where I had to record my answers to questions. Didn't speak to anyone. Then just got an email saying thanks. It wasn't very thorough and didn't feel like much effort was put into it.

Had an initial easy-going phone chat. Then, they wanted a recorded lesson submission. After that, there was a Zoom interview which was also pretty chill. They originally wanted me to teach a lesson in person, but due to my inability to do so, they were accommodating by arranging the Zoom session instead.

This interview process took a lot of my time and effort, but not much from their side. It had four stages: a one-way video interview, a performance task, an in-person interview, and a reference check. The video interview involved timed questions, usually between 30 seconds and 2 minutes each. The performance task was also timed and felt like a statistics exam. The in-person interview was standard, with a panel asking mostly typical questions and focusing on my previous work. I haven't encountered an interview process like this before and found it very impersonal, especially the video part. It felt more like a test of technical skills and knowledge, similar to tasks in a BA/MA program, rather than assessing how I'd fit with the team, mission, and goals. I didn't get an offer, and honestly, the whole process made me hesitant about working there because they prioritized specific skills over personality. While skills can be improved, fundamental abilities can't be changed, but maybe KIPP knows best.

I got a call to set up the interview and then did a phone interview. After that, I met with a panel for over an hour. We went around answering questions. I got to ask them questions too. It was a nice experience overall.
