Snowflake Developer
The interview was all about Snowflake architecture, data warehousing, clusters, snowsql, the storage layer, and ETL within Snowflake. It was an intermediate level, and they really dug into core Snowflake knowledge. The main focus was on architecture, data injection methods, and data copying, as well as connecting using different connectors like ODBC and JDBC drivers.
- Can you describe the architecture?
- Tell me about the storage layer.
- What about the compute layer?
Data Scientist
First my resume got shortlisted through Naukri.com. Then there was a Telephonic round which was an HR Round where they asked about my background, education, and interest in the job. Job fit questions included experience, current employment status, comfort with remote work, salary expectations, and work location. After that, there was an Interview.
- Could you explain what Gradient Descent is?
- What do you understand by activation function?
- Can you tell me about Descriptive and Generative models?
Software Developer
So the hiring process started on Dec 6th 2023. I had my first test on the same day, then a second test on Dec 16th, and my first interview was on Dec 21st. The interview was initially set for 11 am, but they rescheduled it to 3:30 pm just 5 minutes before. I logged in at 3:30 pm, and the interviewer showed up around 3:45 pm. During the interview, they took a 5-minute break for coffee. The actual interview began at 3:50 pm. After about 15 minutes, I got disconnected due to internet issues. I rejoined immediately, but the interviewer/HR didn't let me back in. I emailed them to reschedule. The next day, their HR Sanket called and lectured me on professionalism. Honestly, considering all this, who seems more professional?
- Could you please rearrange the array using core Java?
Senior Lead Engineer
So, I've got over 13 years of experience, right? But at KIPI BI, I felt pretty undervalued during the interview. The interviewers had like, 2 years of experience, which felt like a bit of a mismatch. The interview was less about my skills and more about just, like, specific function names in Snowflake. They didn't seem that interested in my background, and the questions felt super basic, not really matching my experience or the role. It felt like a quick fire round, and you were out in the first 15 minutes. The way they spoke to me was not cool, honestly. Disrespectful and inconsiderate. I told HR about it, and they just thanked me for my time right away. So yeah, KIPI could def improve their interview process, especially with tailoring questions and recognizing candidate experience, and using better language. Wish them luck though!
- What's the term for a single query that can both insert and update data?
