The interview process was pretty straightforward and easy, consisting of just one interview before I got hired. It was very streamlined, and since the interview went well, I got an offer letter the following week. It also seemed like there was flexibility with job location since the company has offices in many different places.

This process feels like too much and really impersonal for a job that doesn't pay that much. It takes about 3-4 weeks and has a bunch of steps. You start with the online application, then get an email with some questions. After that, there's a phone interview where they'll ask about your salary expectations and want 5 references with phone numbers from your direct managers. If they like you, you go onsite. There, you have to fill out the paper application again and sign stuff for background checks, credit checks, social media checks, and give your social security number. Then, you meet with them, talk about your work history, and answer more questions. To top it off, they surprise you with a timed IQ test at the end. After all that, they say they'll contact you via the HR recruiter.

HR reached out via email to set up an initial 30-minute phone interview. The call itself lasted 45 minutes and covered standard background questions like 'Why are you interested in the position?' and 'Tell me about yourself.' It seemed to go well, and the HR person was friendly. Later that day, I got an email about scheduling a second phone interview with the Aftermarket Sales Manager in two days. However, I received another email stating it needed to be rescheduled because the manager was out of town. The following week, the manager called and asked briefly about my background before extensively explaining the standby generator business. I mentioned that the company's motto, 'Do the right thing,' appealed to me because I prioritize customer service and satisfaction above all else, as I have in past roles. The manager acknowledged its importance at Kinsley. After about an hour, during which I asked questions about the position and expressed my enthusiasm, I was told he would recommend me for an interview with the Director of Sales. I was thrilled, feeling confident I could excel in the role at Kinsley and was looking forward to the next step. However, later that same afternoon, I received a standard email from the initial HR contact informing me I wouldn't be proceeding to the next interview stage. This was very disappointing, especially after being told to prepare for another interview. Honestly, it felt like a failure to 'DO THE RIGHT THING.' If this is how potential employees are treated, I wonder how customers are treated. It's a shame because I truly believe I would have been a great asset to Kinsley and its customers.

I applied online for a management position and got an email to schedule a phone interview with HR. The recruiter was great – thorough, professional, and personable. After our chat, I was told I'd move on. Then I had two in-person interviews and another phone call. Everyone I met at Kinsley was nice, and the employees seemed happy there. Even though it took longer than I thought, HR kept me updated. This company really cares about hiring the right people. I was very impressed with Kinsley the whole time.
