First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kingston Technology.
Electrical Engineer
The interview process felt long and unnecessarily tough. After the initial on-site interview, the subsequent two interviews didn't cover anything new. The competition for this position was really high.
- Can you go over my resume again?
- Can we discuss my resume with some of the team members?
Financial Analyst
It was informal with the hiring manager, we walked around to see the company and get a feel for the culture and the people working there. Then I interviewed with HR, they talked about the benefits. I interviewed with the VP of the Flash division because I'll be supporting him and his organization. Then I interviewed the VP of international Sales to see if there was a cultural fit. This was followed by a background check and then an offer.
- Tell me about your strengths.
- What are your weak points and what are you doing to improve them?
- What prompted your departure from your previous role?
Sales
It started with a phone interview with someone from an external agency, which was pretty standard, just covering the basics. Then, there was a 1:1 interview that felt like most others, with general questions at first, then more specific ones. Be ready for follow-up questions, usually 1-2, so have details handy. They didn't do any IQ tests or weird creative questions, just the usual interview stuff with some in-depth questions. They really focus on work culture, so the interviewer is mainly checking if you'd be a good fit, besides your skills.
- If your previous field experienced significant growth in the coming years, would you consider returning to it?
Planning Specialist
The interview process was straightforward with two interviews. They focused more on my personal life and me as a person rather than the company or my CV. I felt I got along great with both the HR representative and the hiring manager, which is how interviews should ideally be.
