First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kingsley Management Corporation.
Executive Assistant
interviewed by HR, a 30min max chat. Got a guided tour of the office. The interview was pretty simple, mostly talking about organization, expectations, and the benefit package, which was pretty limited for this role.
- How are your organizational skills?
Accounts Receivable Clerk
This interview was really mismanaged. They mentioned things like 'There is no room for upward mobility' which is a weird way to try and get good candidates, but maybe they just want people who will agree with everything. Also, shoes aren't allowed in the office because of the wood floors, which is strange since they have money for a nice building but pay terribly and offer no benefits. Even though it didn't work out, I'm glad it didn't because it would have been a bad experience. I wouldn't suggest this company to anyone.
- What are your thoughts on processes?
Web Developer
I had an initial meeting with HR and the senior developer. We discussed my projects and coding interests, and they asked general get-to-know-you questions. HR focused on typical interview questions about workplace situations, successes, and challenges, while the senior dev delved into my past technical work. We then worked through some SQL problems, and I was given a take-home assessment. If I did well on that, I'd be invited for a second interview. I completed the assessment and apparently did well enough because they invited me back for a second interview with the development team and the CFO. During the second interview, the dev team talked about their current technologies and future plans for the company's website, and my personal interests. They mentioned I was the only candidate who got all the coding questions right. After that, I met with the CFO. He had the dev team get back to work and he and the senior dev interviewed me further, mostly him. Things seemed okay until the CFO started asking overly personal questions. He made assumptions about me being unemployed for a while and suggested I was failing as a husband for not financially supporting my new bride. He also inquired about how I was covering my mortgage payments, even though I'd mentioned we'd recently bought a house. He asked for a reference from my previous job and said they'd contact me in a week. I felt completely destroyed and knew I wouldn't get the job. I never heard back, and I'm glad I didn't end up working with that unprofessional CFO, though the senior dev and the dev team were really great.
- Have you built single page applications before?
Hotel Receptionist
I'm applying for the Hotel Receptionist position. The interview will cover my reasons for applying, my potential contributions to the company, how I maintain good work ethics, and how I can contribute to the company's success. It will also touch on following rules and regulations, being punctual, and keeping the environment clean.
