First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kindering Center.
Senior Manager
It started with a quick HR phone screen a few days after I applied. Then there were two rounds of Zoom interviews where I spoke with the hiring manager and one or two other staff members, who were different people each time.
- Describe a situation where you had to provide feedback to an employee who wasn't performing well.
- Can you walk me through some scenarios you might encounter in this role?
Speech-Language Pathologist
The team leads interviewed me. They asked questions and then gave me a lot of time to ask my own. The questions were about professional practice, ethics, and assessment and treatment. This interview was specific to Early Intervention.
- Can you share your experience as an SLP?
Event and Volunteer Manager
Applied online and then had a phone interview, which I thought would be a screening. But it turned out to be a full interview with at least six questions, plus some scenario-based problem-solving. It felt unprofessional because when I asked what to prepare, they just said it was a phone interview. So the first step, supposedly a recruiter/HR call, was actually the hiring manager asking tough questions over the phone. Honestly, I think they should have at least done a video call for that.
- Can you share an example of your leadership?
- What is your approach to solving this problem? [scenario]
- Tell me about a leadership problem you encountered and how you dealt with it.
Occupational Therapist
I had an initial phone screen, then an in person interview. Kindering does a really good and thorough job of making sure a potential candidate would be a good fit. Then a third clinical interview is scheduled.
- Tell me about a session that didn't go as planned and how you recovered the session.
