The interview for the Research and Data Analyst role at KIMCO Realty was not a good experience. There was unclear and shifting information about what the job entailed, which made it hard to know if my skills were a good fit. My background seems to line up well with what they asked for. Even so, the job was posted again soon after the interviews finished, which made me wonder if they even used the right criteria to pick someone. Also, the recruiter didn't seem to have enough technical knowledge to really judge if candidates were qualified or to explain what the job needed. If they could improve how they communicate, make the process smoother, and bring in people who understand the technical side, it would be much better for future candidates and for KIMCO Realty's hiring.

It was a 2 step process. First, a quick 15 minute phone chat. If that went well, there was about an hour zoom interview with the general counsel, which was pretty conversational. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

I got a call from someone in New York who asked me a bunch of questions. Then, she mentioned she'd set up a Zoom meeting with the heads of the Northern California office. We had a lot of questions and it was very in-depth. The interview seemed to go well, but I guess I didn't have enough experience for such a big commercial property.

Kimco's recruiter called me for a phone screen and really thought I was a good fit. I interviewed in February. The interview went well, and the interviewer told me to call him directly if I had questions, saying HR would call me. They never did. It's strange because this position has been posted monthly ever since, marked as 'NEW' when it's over 6 months old. I wonder who they're looking for and if the position is even needed. They should stop wasting people's time and money. It seems unprofessional and indecisive.
