First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kimberly-Clark.
Mechanical Engineer
I went through two rounds of interviews. The first one was mostly behavioral questions, asking why they should hire me and to describe a tough project I'd worked on. The second interview involved seven more detailed questions that required using the STAR method and asking 'tell me about a time you...' scenarios. Both interviewers were really nice and encouraging. I didn't think the first round went super well, but they were pretty chill.
- Can you share an instance where you challenged existing procedures?
- Describe a challenging project you completed.
- Why do you believe we should hire you?
Senior Mechanical Engineer
I saw a posting for a job on a website and got a call from an internal recruiter. We talked about my background and they asked for references. After they checked my references, I was scheduled for an in-person interview, skipping the phone interview stage. The interview was scheduled for a few weeks out due to vacations. Before the interview, another recruiter sent me some info: the job description, the schedule for the four people I'd meet with (and their titles), directions, and where to go when I got there. The directions sent me to the wrong building, but luckily I was early and security sent me to the right place. The facility was in Roswell, GA, about 20 minutes north of Atlanta. It was a really nice, modern place. The interview had four one-on-one in-person interviews, each lasting about 45-60 minutes, held in a conference room. Everyone was nice. They each had a list of questions they wanted to get through quickly while also learning about my experience. I was told that if I passed this round, I'd have to interview with four senior leaders outside of engineering. I thought it went well, but I felt I was maybe too qualified. Four weeks later, I heard they went with someone internal.
- Can you explain how your previous work was centered on the customer or end user?
- Share an instance where you had to persuade your peers about a certain point.
Mechatronics Engineer
The first step was a phone call where they asked about my willingness to travel, among other things. Then, there was a Teams meeting with an HR person to get to know me. After that, a technical interview followed, covering my experience and knowledge, as well as my English proficiency. Finally, an in-person appointment was scheduled.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What are your salary expectations?
- What are your values?
