Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kimball Midwest.
Sales Manager
They asked a lot of questions. You must be able to think on your feet. There are many interview steps to go through. The first is a phone call. The next is a meeting. The third is a ride-a-long.
- Can you share an instance where your emotions influenced a work-related decision?
Sales Manager
I spoke with a recruiter first, and then scheduled an interview with the Regional Sales Manager. After that, I spent a day shadowing one of their sales reps to get a feel for the role. Next, I interviewed with the Divisional Sales Manager. He had me ride along with another rep and try to sell their product during a customer demo. The final stage involved going to their headquarters in Columbus, OH. The entire process lasted about 6 months. If you have spare time, interview here, good luck.
- What is your current salary?
Sales Manager
I got recruited by the recruiting dept. First, I had an initial phone interview. Then, I had a meeting at headquarters. After that, I did a JOT, which is a job observation tour where I rode around with a sales rep. I then had another meeting at headquarters for a presentation and a caliper test. Finally, I went to Columbus for the offer.
