First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kikkoman.
Sales Representative
It's a simple process, with some chats with different people. They'll ask about your past experience. There might be a test to see if you know about hygiene monitoring. Be truthful.
- What makes you a good fit for this company?
Digital Marketing Specialist
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. The initial salary range was surprisingly low for the industry and company size, but I went ahead. Instead of a call, I was put straight into a 4-person, hour-long virtual panel interview with the team, with no prior intro. Even with 3.5 years of experience, the recruiter said I was moving on, but then dropped the salary offer significantly, claiming nobody internally made more than my initial ask, which contradicts their claim of internal growth potential. I withdrew my application about two months ago, and the role is still open.
- In what ways does your present work history align with the requirements outlined in the job description?
Food Technologist
Had a virtual interview that lasted about 30 minutes, then an in-person one that took around 3 hours. They also gave me a short written test during the in-person part. Didn't get any feedback afterwards.
- Could you share your most significant professional achievement?
- Describe an instance where you held a leadership role.
- What makes you interested in joining this particular company?
Finance
The interview process included a chat with HR and then the Department Manager. It felt pretty unstructured and the manager didn't seem very engaged or professional. HR's job description didn't really match what the manager was looking for. The manager wasn't ready to talk about actual finance stuff and instead asked about personal lifestyle. The vibe wasn't collaborative, so it was hard to figure out the real leadership style or what the department is trying to achieve.
- The questions asked were surprisingly unprofessional for the position.
