Special Education Teacher Assistant
It was a pretty easy interview process. They mainly asked about my previous experience with children and education. I was also asked if I wanted to work with child education in the future and to elaborate on that. It was important to be friendly and open because the workers there are pretty nice.
- Tell me about your past experience in childcare.
- Do you see yourself working in child education in the future?
- Could you expand on your aspirations to work in child education?
Assistant Teacher
The interview process was easy and quick, and I got the job. I was able to negotiate the salary. The people were friendly and the atmosphere was semi-professional. They wanted me to start ASAP, but they waited two weeks for me. The first interview was with the directors, and then I had a second interview in the classroom where the teachers made the final decision. I had to get my fingerprints done sometime after I started.
- What experience do you have?
- What age groups are you comfortable working with?
- Do you have references?
Floater
I was doing a school project with my friend when the directors noticed our work with kids and offered us a dual interview for the next day. They gave us a packet to complete overnight. The interview the next day involved a working interview where we participated in different classes to see which ones would be a good fit. They told us we could start once we passed the background check.
- Can you tell me how many credits of child development you have?
- What makes you want to start a career in early childhood?
- What can you bring to our team that will set you apart from other teachers?
Assistant Director
The interview experience was really unsettling due to the loud yelling from teachers in the background. The director was very unprofessional, repeatedly leaving and entering the interview room while I was speaking, which prevented me from completing my answers. She also stated I was unqualified despite having my resume beforehand and spoke to me in a condescending manner. It felt like a complete waste of my time.
- Can you describe a time you supported a parent or parents?
