the interviewer told me about the company's main business and their future business plan, and how quickly they are growing. they are hiring a lot of people now, and they recently got more investment. they also mentioned the position is fully remote.

The interview started with a phone screening and then a take-home project. They sent a project via email with a two-week deadline. The project involved analyzing a dataset and answering open-ended questions. They wanted code and PowerPoint slides. It was really bad because they never even confirmed they got the project, and there was no follow-up at all. It's terrible to spend two weeks on something so detailed, including market and competitive analysis in an area they actively lend in, and a model to forecast future lending opportunities. I feel like they're exploiting interviewees for free work. It's unfair to ask for two weeks of a candidate's time.

A recruiter reached out, and we had a brief call. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager. During this interview, he asked me about a project from my CV and then surprisingly ended the call early, stating it was a 'waste of time.' He couldn't explain why he felt I was unqualified, just that my experience wasn't 'rigorous' enough. He mentioned wanting more than 2 years of experience, despite my 3+ years in my current role and 6+ years in the industry, all detailed on my CV. His attitude was dismissive and insulting.
