I was surprised I got an in-person interview since applying directly through a company's portal usually doesn't work. But, I got an email for a phone interview about one to two weeks after applying. I spoke with HR for about 15 minutes and we reviewed my resume. A week later, I was invited to interview in-person at Kia's headquarters in Irvine, CA. I met with two in-house attorneys and we talked about my experience, but mostly about interests and hobbies. I thought it went well and I felt good about my chances. Sadly, after 3-4 weeks with no word, I followed up and was told the position was being eliminated that year.

It was a quick interview, a good interview, everything went well, the interviewer was very kind and polite. They ask you questions about why you want to join and what your objectives are. The recruiter wants to know the details of your education, your professional experience, your skills, etc. Take this opportunity to present yourself in the best possible light. It is very important that you remember the details and dates on your resume well and are clear about the aspects you want to highlight, what skills you possess that differentiate you from others, and why you believe you are ideal for this job.

first, there's a 30-40 minute phone screening with HR, where they'll ask about you and your personality. then, a casual 1st round face-to-face interview with the team lead, about an hour long, covering technical stuff, how you work, and your career path. after that, a formal 2nd round face-to-face with the controller (the department head), also about an hour, focusing on behavioral questions and general fit with the company culture.

HR reached out to set up a basic phone screening with the Hiring Manager. It was super straightforward, no technical stuff, just some background questions. I was really keen on the job and kept following up with HR for three weeks, but they just said they were still reviewing. I emailed and called in the fourth week with no response. The very next day, I got an automated rejection. Honestly, pretty bummed about how they handled it.
