I had a first interview with the hiring manager. Then, I had a second interview with two colleagues. One was at the same level as the hiring manager, and the other was a direct report to the hiring manager. That was the end of the process.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process with the person that I would report directly to was pleasant, they asked relevant questions and gave an overview of the company and the type of work that the position would be handling. Very efficient in the first interview with the direct manager. Then you move on to the second round interview, which is anywhere from 6-8 hours long, interviewing with all the managers/directors in the facility. If you are currently working you would have to take a whole day off of work to make that interview, which was unnecessary, since they could have saved the candidate and their time by doing a panel interview that could potentially last for 2-3 hours instead of 6-8 hours, which is less grueling and time consuming for both parties. There are a lot of inefficiencies within the group and company that I observed while waiting on the next person to come in interview. At the end, it seemed clear to me that the stand in manager did not want to actually hire anyone for the position they had posted for many months to be in that position. It is quite unprofessional and a waste of many candidate's time and energy.

A talent acquisition leader at Kettle Cuisine contacted me on 2/6/24 via email about the HR Generalist position. They asked if I could relocate to Lynn, MA, on my own, as no relocation assistance was provided. I replied that I was willing to relocate at my own expense if the opportunity was right. The recruiter then said they would share my resume with the hiring manager and prescreen me if there was interest. After that, I heard nothing back. I emailed twice, on 2/15/24 and 2/27/24, for an update but was ghosted. This is terrible treatment, and it reflects poorly on Kettle Cuisine. HR should have more decency and respect for candidates, not leave them hanging.

The interview process felt rushed, and I didn't get to fully express myself. The interviewer described the job as simple but demanding, with the workload keeping things moving quickly.
