Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied online and initially spoke with a recruiter who was very attentive and showed high emotional intelligence. Although I didn't get the role, the recruiter provided valuable constructive feedback. The subsequent interviews were with the hiring manager and a product management representative. The hiring manager was exceptionally professional and kind. However, the product management interviewer asked questions more suited for an engineering role. When this was pointed out, they became confrontational, rude, and unprofessional.

Behavioral Technical

So I started off with a recruiter, then the hiring manager, then three people from the team. It didn't get too technical until the very last person, who was one of the sales engineers. The whole thing was FIVE ROUNDS, and after all that, they told me I didn't have the right skills. Like, really? You put me through five rounds without really asking me many skill-based questions?

This interview process took over 6 weeks, which felt really long. It started with some initial chats, including HR and a technical screen, plus meeting the team. After that, there was a standard take-home assignment that took about 4-5 hours, involving data visualization with d3/map. They seemed to care more about code organization than complexity, and they liked my submission. Then, surprisingly, there were more interviews to get to know the team better. In total, including the take-home, there were 7 interviews. This was for a senior engineer role, not a management or executive position, and it felt excessive to have so many rounds for this level.
