First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kenseal Construction Products.
Inside Sales Representative
First meet with the sales manager to talk about your background. This is a good stepping stone position. You can move up to outside sales. They are looking for energy, and knowing about construction is helpful.
- Can you describe your most significant sale and the process you used to close it?
Commercial Sales Representative
We had a phone call first, then I got a link to do an online personality test, it was pretty long. After that, I had an in-person interview with the regional manager, who was sharp and professional. He asked me to complete a 4-page company application. I also had to bring a credit report (I paid for it) and copies of my earnings for the last 3 years (like tax returns or pay stubs) to the interview.
- Can you explain why you've had more than two jobs in the past year?
Sales Representative
It was a really thorough process. We had two interviews, each lasting about 90 minutes. They asked a bunch of hypothetical questions, covering my strengths and weaknesses, my knowledge of construction, and my customer service experience. They also asked for both positive and negative stories from my past work, and inquired about my career aspirations and my reasons for applying to Kenseal.
- Can you describe what a typical day looked like in your last job?
Materials Handler/CDL Driver
Got an email on LinkedIn to contact the recruiter. Had a 30-minute phone interview, then a face-to-face at the facility a few days later. We did Q&A, then an aptitude test. They gave me a tour and explained the daily tasks. HR called for a follow-up interview and then extended an offer.
- What would you do if two customers showed up and you were the only employee there?
