Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kelley Blue Book.
Software Engineer
Started with a quick chat with the recruiter. Then, I had a panel interview where I talked with some engineers and managers. It was split into two parts: 30 minutes of behavioral questions and then 30 minutes of JavaScript and CSS technical questions. Finally, I got a call about the offer.
- Could you tell me about yourself and your experience?
- How would you approach solving this array-related coding problem?
- Can you explain how to style this element using CSS?
Software Engineer
There were 3 rounds of a strictly behavioral interview. First, a phone call with the recruiter. Second, a phone interview with the engineering majors. Lastly, an on-site with engineering managers.
- Can you give a generic behavioral answer including a pitch?
- Tell me about your side projects.
Software Engineer
They asked for common sense analysis on a previous experiment that they ran. I had to take home the data and come up with a presentation. It was a very straightforward interview process with typical interview questions in both group and one on one sessions.
- Tell me about a time you were under pressure and how you dealt with it.
