First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Keen.
Software Engineer
We had a bunch of chats with the founders, some on the phone/email and some in person down in SF. Keen IO has this thing called Anxious & Excited every week where they invite people they might hire. You go and hear the team talk about what makes them anxious and excited, about work and life stuff, and they don't mind doing it in front of new people, especially if you might join them. They set it up so you'd feel chill and see the real people side of the company. They asked tech questions, sure, but no live coding. It was more like checking if you know your stuff, not asking you to code something right then and there.
- What motivates you to work at Keen IO?
People Developer
I met the CEO for a casual chat over a beer at their office, then I met two other founders. After that, I joined the weekly all-hands meeting. Later, I had coffee with the CEO again, and then got an offer the following week.
- What's your approach to open salaries?
Marketing Intern
The whole thing took about 45 days. First up was a chat with the HR manager and a fellow intern. After that, you'll interview with your direct manager. I'd suggest checking in pretty often.
- Which footwear brands do you admire?
Digital Designer
I had one meeting with the senior designer and a person from the HR. It went very nice and smooth. Although I didn’t get the job it was a nice and friendly experience!
- Can you walk us through your portfolio projects?
