Software Engineer, Backend
Applied online and then got a call from the recruiter. After that, a technical call was scheduled. It was a 1hr 15mins video call with HackerRank coding. Later the virtual onsite was set up. 4 rounds of 45mins each. DS/Algo, System Design, App building, and final interview with Manager. I had read the glassdoor interview reviews where a lot of people told about interviewers being rude or not interested, etc. But that was not at all the case. In the app-building round, I did not know Spring/JavaScript at all and I let him know and he still encouraged me to go ahead and helped me do it. Every interviewer was very very helpful and super nice and encouraging. 2 weeks after the interview, they reached back with an offer.
- Can you find the nth Fibonacci number using both iterative and recursive approaches?
- Determine if a given tree is a Binary Search Tree (BST) or not.
- Implement a function to find overlapping intervals.
Product Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward, although my overall experience was a bit disappointing. It started with a 30-minute chat with HR, followed by a 30-minute meeting with the hiring manager. Then, I had an onsite presentation and a panel interview. The onsite included a presentation and a group interview. It was supposed to be 6 interviewers, but only 3 showed up, and 2 of them were distracted by their laptops. People were coming in and out during my presentation, which was distracting. The hiring manager didn't show up, even though I offered multiple times to reschedule. After the interview, the HR person mentioned recording my presentation without my knowledge. Five days later, HR called to say they preferred someone from a smaller company and passed on my application because my experience was in big corporate. My onsite interview wasn't a positive one, despite my initial excitement for the company. One interviewer was unprofessional and rude, asking about my openness to challenges in a small company, which was ironic since he came from a big company himself.
- Can you describe your overall experience?
- Are you open to challenges of working in a small company?
- What are your thoughts on working for a smaller company versus a large corporation?
Customer Delight
So, I applied to Infusionsoft for the third time because I really believe in their mission of helping small businesses succeed. I was even willing to take a pay cut! The process started with an online application, then a recruiter reached out to schedule a phone interview. This call was pretty straightforward, focusing on my past work experience. After that, I moved to the next stage where they emailed me some questions. I sent my answers back and got a standard 'thanks for applying' message the next day. Honestly, I wish Infusionsoft the best, but I won't be applying again. If someone has over 10 years of experience and can easily get other jobs, they should just hire them.
- How would you describe your suitability for Infusionsoft?
- Can you discuss your previous work history?
Coach
First, the recruiter called me to chat about my background and qualifications. Then, I had a role-playing call with a coach who pretended to be a client. The scenario was working with a client in their 3rd week post-implementation and figuring out why they were struggling. I passed that, and they invited me for an in-person interview. They gave me access to Infusionsoft and asked me to build a marketing campaign using their Campaign Builder tool, as if I were a business owner. I then had to give a 10-minute presentation about my business and marketing strategy, focusing on how I used automation. The rest of the interview seemed to be about whether they liked me and if I'd fit their culture. They really scrutinize your words and want you to be vulnerable in your answers.
- What's the biggest risk in hiring you?
- If you were to write an autobiography, what would its title be?
- What are your five-year career aspirations?
