First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KD College Prep.
Vice President
I had a lot of interviews, some were a bit overwhelming. It was a bit confusing because they didn't clearly explain what the job entails, like you have to guess what to do.

Math Teacher
After hearing about KD from a lot of people, I went in and asked if they were hiring math teachers. I met with a director who checked if I had a Bachelor's degree, and since I did, I got an application. After they processed it, we set up an interview. They had me take a timed SAT math section first. Then, they picked two problems from that section and I had to teach them to two directors, answering common student questions about them. They also asked me about handling student behavior, like cellphone use. I got hired that week, and then there was a training period that could last a month or more.
- Do you know the content of your subject area and common student misconceptions?
- Are you prepared for questions about student behavior, such as cellphone use or disruptive conduct?
Marketing
It was a quick and easy process. Since I was a student worker there before, they were familiar with my work ethic. The company frequently hires students who previously interned with them. It's somewhat of an internal hiring process. If you're looking to intern, I'd suggest trying to get a position in high school.
- What marketing strategies would you propose to encourage student class attendance?
Tutor
First I had to do a diagnostic test. After doing well on that, I was invited for the interview. In the interview, I had to go over some problems and teach them to the interviewers like they were students.
- Can you explain this problem to me as if I were a high school student?
- Teach me this concept as if I were a high schooler.
