Recruiter
I don't get why recruiters reach out if they can't do their job properly. It feels like a waste of my time and theirs. The first two interviews went well. They said they'd follow up soon about an in-person meet the team. A week later, I reached out again with updates, and they said they'd get back to me but never did. Total waste of time.
- Can you tell me about your recruiting experience?
Project Consultant
KBIC is always looking for great talent to join the team so you can typically see postings of theirs on Career Builder, Indeed, school boards, ect. You can send your resume through one of the postings, but you will get a much quicker response since there are hundreds of resumes sent in each day. I recommend contact the hiring individual and sending them an email directly. There is no need for a cover letter, when you get that many resumes I’m sure they don’t even look at it. I was persistent in my approach, so after I applied I called and confirmed they received it and called every two days until I got a telephone interview. Once you set that up, they will send you a personality profile in an email and you just fill it out. I don’t know if they do it now, but when I went through they had me watch a video and the first thing I was asked in my telephone interview was if I watched the video, so make sure you do. They ask you specific questions on it so if you lie, they will know. (The video was actually really great - gave a much better idea on what I’d be doing.) The telephone interview lasted about 30 or 35 minutes and felt more like a conversation. By the time we finished our call, every question I had was answered. You have to call and leave a voicemail to move forward because they want to hear how you sound on the phone, so make sure you speak clearly and you write something down because they won’t move forward with you even after the first conversation if you aren’t a solid on the phone & can deliver. I went in for an in person interview and met with a few people and was offered the role a few days later. Make sure to write follow up emails to everyone you meet with and get their business cards, and even though I didn’t, I would write hand written thank you letters, too. Just gives you a better shot.
- What is your motivation?
- What is your why?
Digital Marketing Manager
I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn for this role and scheduled a phone call. The interview was only 5 minutes long and the interviewer was unprofessional and uninterested, not even introducing themselves. They immediately asked about my experience. I started explaining my relevant experience, but they seemed to think I didn't have enough and wasn't a good fit. It's strange to reach out if that decision was already made based on my resume. Also, for a Digital Marketing Manager role, I don't see why it can't be remote, but they seem to want on-site work. Overall, it seems like a bad company that overworks its employees for low pay, despite the promised salary. They should hire more professional recruiters who don't waste applicants' time.
- Can you describe your experience in digital marketing?
Project Manager
I met with a few partners in individual, 10-minute meetings. After that, I met some project staff and got a tour of the office.
- What's your background?
- How do you feel about cold calling and what sales experience do you bring?
- In what ways do you think you would be a valuable asset to our team?
