The whole thing was really professional, well-organized, and moved quickly. When one of the recruiters went on vacation, it was handed off smoothly without any delays. It was always clear where I was in the process and what was coming next. It started with a casual 20-30 minute screening call from a talent scout over Skype. Then, I had a coding homework assignment. After that, there was a 60-minute technical interview with the iOS team lead, also on Skype. Finally, I went on-site for a session with two developers. Each interview involved some general tech talk and a whiteboard session where we worked through and discussed a coding problem. They also asked for a professional reference check, but it seemed more like a formality. The technical interviews were tough but doable. You can tell they're serious about checking technical skills.

So, I got this job at a company. First, before even talking to a recruiter, I was given a project to finish in a week. That was weird. After I finished it on time, I had a quick intro call with their recruiter. About a week later, they just turned down my application without giving me any specific reasons. So, I didn't even get to have a real interview with the engineers based on my project. I spent a whole day on it, so I think rejecting me like this is rude and unfair. I asked for more detailed feedback on my application. They said they'd recheck with the managers, but nobody ever replied back. I'm not sure, but it seems like they didn't even look at my project because they couldn't give proper feedback. If they had, there would definitely be a technical part. Too bad. One of the worst job application experiences ever.

Behavioral Coding

Got contacted by a recruiter, applied, after they contacted me after 2 weeks. Initial phone interview with HR, pretty standard, nothing out of ordinary. Then there was a coding challenge which was also pretty standard. 2 days after sending it in, I got rejected with really stupid feedback. The description stated that they only cared about code quality, not UI/UX, so long as a few requirements were met. Half the reasons they gave weren't in the requirements, the other half were plain wrong. The person reviewing my project had no understanding of Autolayout.
