It started with a brief initial screening call with a recruiter. Then, I got to the second phase, a panel interview. We learned about the company and our roles, and it was very interactive. The interviewer seemed to be looking for industry knowledge because they were selective about who got a third-round interview. Thankfully, my preparation and engagement paid off. The third round was a one-on-one with someone who asked about my understanding of the role and responsibilities, and also about my personal and professional aspirations.
- How important is the direct marketing strategy for a client's company to survive?
Brand Ambassador
This job might be a scam. The first interview was supposed to start at a certain time but I was kept waiting over half an hour past my appointment. Then the interview lasted only about 5 minutes. I was asked a series of questions, wasn't told anything about the actual job or salary, and I was required to return the next day for a second interview. For the second interview, a young man met with me, who was so inarticulate, I couldn't understand half of what he said. It turned out the job was 100% commission, selling Xfinity services in stores like Walmart, Best Buy and Frys. Other options were selling pet insurance and possibly cell phone services. The guy was such a poor speaker, I couldn't understand all of it. You had to work 6 days a week including Saturdays to make your sales quota. Max. income potential for the first two phases of training was about $500 per week. The total training is 4 phases lasting about 10 months. You could complete it sooner according to the interviewer. Then, I had to wait for a third interview, at which point I walked out. The job ad is totally misleading in that it says you can make over $40,000 annually. It doesn't mention anything about being 100% commission. And if you are a legitimate business, why can't you say what the job is up front, and why do you require three interviews? Again, because the guy was so inarticulate, I think at the end of the training you would run your own business consisting of a team of these people selling cable vs. owning a store selling the services. He made a big deal about some guy moving to Paris to open up his own business doing this.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Sports Marketing
Applied online, was super excited about the job. The procedure follows most of the reviews on here: two-day process with 3 rounds of interviews. Some reviews have called this a pyramid scheme, and I am leaning towards an agreement. Super sketchy business with limited information online, along with them changing their name from KJ solutions to its current names. Actual job did not match the application description at all; this is a SALES job on commission, not sports marketing...and you work your way up. They promise a lot of benefits (I can't speak to this since I did not work there but they are definitely too good to be true). The interview revolved around them selling the company to ME versus seeing my qualifications. Big red flag. Seems like they'll hire anyone. Devoted recruitment and high turnover rates = another red flag. The members of the team seem great, maybe they're brainwashed or they're deceitful, but the process was smooth. However, their desperation leads me to tell you to proceed with caution and to do your research. I could absolutely be wrong, that's for you to judge if you choose to apply. For me the lack of transparency and the hiring managers' fabrication of the job lead me to not wanting to work here.
- How would you contribute to our company?
- Do you think we are a good fit for each other?
Marketing Intern
Given the current pandemic, the team prioritized everyone's health and conducted the interview virtually. The first stage involved submitting a video where I talked about myself and my goals. It was refreshing as it was the first company to ask about me personally. The second stage was a panel interview which provided a lot of information about KAT. I really liked this interactive setup where everyone participated. It was different from the typical stiff interviews with much older interviewers. The interviewer was young, professional, and very relatable.
- The questions asked were related to our understanding of the role/company.
