So I had this AI interview thing with Jobot first, which was kinda long. Then, a Jobot person called and said the CTO wanted to chat. We had a conversation about the company and the job, but he didn't even know they were using an AI voice thing to screen people. They wanted me to do a take-home assignment, but I passed on it because the pay wasn't great, even with equity. The people I talked to were nice enough, though.

So, Kasa's interview process really focused a lot on asking candidates to do a bunch of unpaid project work, and honestly, it didn't feel like they were super serious about hiring. I had to complete these huge, time-sucking assessments that seemed to use real, but anonymized, data. I had to design and fix these full automation workflows that were basically just like the actual problems they deal with day-to-day. Throughout, they were super vague about what was next and when decisions would be made, which made it feel more like free consulting disguised as a test rather than a real evaluation for a job. The actual interviews didn't make up for this workload either. They stayed pretty high-level, the questions were pretty basic, and some of the interviewers, even the Data Lead, didn't really dive into the technical side of what I did. This huge difference between the take-home task and how shallow the interviews were made me wonder how much they actually respect candidates' time and skills.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Got contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for this role. First, had a chat with the Recruiter. Then, interviewed with the Design Director. There was a complex case study involved, but I didn't finish it, so I'm unsure about what comes next. The people I met were nice and professional. It was a good chat overall, but I stopped midway because of personal priorities. The process seemed a bit slow because of the holidays, but that might have been a one-off thing.

Case Presentation Behavioral Technical

I got a referral from someone who works there and was then contacted by a recruiter, which was a nice experience. After that, there were 4 weeks of interviews, with 4 total. Week 2 involved a case study assignment with questions to answer in a PowerPoint. Interview #3 was presenting that PowerPoint to a panel, followed by questions. Interview #4 was with a new manager who seemed to be at a higher level. I heard back a few days later that I wasn't selected. All in all, about 3.5 hours of interviewing and 3-4 hours spent prepping the case study and presentation. The job was regional but they didn't adjust the salary for the cost of living.
