So, there were seven interviews in total. It kicked off with a chat with the Head Recruiter, and then I had six one-on-one Zoom calls. I talked with the Sr. Director of Commercial Operations & Customer Success, who was my hiring manager, then the VP of Sales, a Sr. Commercial Operations Analyst, the Director of Marketing Operations & Sales Enablement, the Director of Customer Success, and finally the Chief Commercial Officer. Everyone was really nice and professional. They asked about my experiences and some technical stuff related to their jobs and how we'd work together in Commercial Ops. It gave me a good sense of what they expect from different teams and how everything fits together.

First, I had a 30 minute chat with the recruiter. He was super professional and clear about the role and the next steps. It was a great first impression. Then, I had an informal 45 minute zoom meeting with someone from the Computational Biology team. This was awesome, I really got a clear view of what the team is working on and their culture. After that, I got a take-home assignment that took about 6 hours. They had a zoom call before it started to let me ask questions. It was a good way to see if the problems Karius faces would be interesting to me and to show my thinking. Finally, I went on-site for a 30 minute presentation and then had 4 interviews, each 45 minutes long, with the Analytics team. It was a pretty formal and structured process, mostly behavioral and technical questions. It was nice to meet the team, though I wish there was a bit more time for casual chat with everyone. Overall, it was informative, clear, and professional.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process started with a chat with the Director of Data Science. Then, I had to complete a 4-hour take-home technical assessment. After that, a recruiter got in touch to set up an interview with the VP of Medical Affairs. Everything seemed to be going well, and the recruiter mentioned arranging the next steps, which involved five interviews with different directors. However, this scheduling never happened, despite the recruiter sending weekly updates about still working on it. A month later, I received an email informing me that the position had been filled. The overall experience with the recruiter was not good. He was late for my interview and seemed disorganized and not fully upfront about the recruitment process. Given the time and effort I put into the technical assessment and interviews, I expected better treatment and more transparency. I would not recommend this company.

First, I had a phone screen with the hiring manager. Then, I was given a 6-hour offline technical exercise to complete. After that, I had a virtual on-site interview, which included people from the Analytics, Molecular Biology, and Medical Affairs teams. In total, there were 5 interviews during the on-site. About half of the interviews were technical, where they wanted to see how I'd tackle problems similar to what I'd do in the role. The other half were more about discussing the company's goals and my background.
