I had a single day interview that lasted 2-3 hours with various people from the company. The interviews were 30-minute chats with people from different teams like Client Services, management, and software/model development. There weren't any super tough questions or trick questions, just conversations with different people. Afterwards, there was a take-home assignment that was pretty interesting and challenging. I spent a good chunk of hours on it, and they gave me 36 hours to finish.

The interview process took about 3 weeks from initial contact to the submission of a take-home assignment. It involved several interview rounds, a presentation of my research, and an online analytical test, in addition to the take-home assignment. After submitting the assignment, I was left waiting for over a month without any communication. They eventually extended an offer, but by then I had already accepted a position with a more communicative company. I was very impressed with KCC's work and believe that if their interview and onboarding process were more streamlined and efficient, they would likely attract more talent.

Got an initial reach-out, and HR sent over a project which took way longer than they initially said, like 1-2 hours. After that, I had an in-person interview. They asked about my presentation, but they never sent me the email saying I'd need one. So, I just ended up answering questions from the team I'd be working with. It seemed to go okay, but I was surprised to see everyone in the office during the pandemic. Then, they called me back for a remote presentation later that week to check my presentation skills. They mentioned I'd meet the CEO after. I did the presentation, and it felt alright. Even with all the work I put in, the CEO was too busy to meet. Super unprofessional, and based on the staff's vibes, she sounds tough to work for. I have no clue if I was a top candidate or not, but it felt like a lot of effort, especially if I wasn't. Not telling me about the presentation for the in-person interview was really unprofessional.

The interview process was really unorganized from start to finish. The software director reached out to me directly asking for my background and resume, even though I'd already submitted it. Then, I had a 15-minute interview scheduled with two engineers, but it ended up going for over 45 minutes. About two weeks after that, they sent me a take-home project. It seemed like it was originally from 2017, and while the data was updated, the PDF wasn't. The task involved using HURDAT2 data for some manipulation. They didn't specify a time limit, so I finished it in a few hours and sent it back. Two weeks later, I received a rejection email. They had mentioned I would present my work to the team for an hour after completion, but this presentation never happened. Overall, the company lacks transparency, and it felt like my time and effort weren't valued. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend working here.
