Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Business Office Manager
The interview process at KCKCC was really smooth and not drawn out or difficult at all. They made setting up interviews easy, and the team involved made sense because they were people the position would work with a lot.
- Tell me about your past experiences and how they have impacted your leadership skills.
- Describe how your previous experiences have influenced your approach to leading a team.
Lifeguard
It was pretty easy and what I expected. They took a while to let me know if I got the job. They asked if the set semester hours worked for me, so definitely have your schedule ready. I met with three people who work there and they all asked me some questions. They were really nice.
- Tell me about your response to standard lifeguard training scenarios.
Faculty
It was a panel interview with a teaching demo. They asked standard questions, a lot about the student population at KCKCC. The teaching demo part kept changing, it was supposed to be 15 minutes but then got cut down to 5 minutes.
- Can you describe your empathy for the KCKCC student population?
- How do you feel about teaching the specific student population at KCKCC?
Technical Assistant
I applied online in late 2011 and didn't hear back until January 2012. The interview was in person, where I sat at one end of a table with four current employees facing me. They each had a script and asked me about 4-5 questions from it.
- I don't recall any specific questions, but they were typical interview questions and didn't catch me off guard.
