First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kansas City Chiefs.
Director of Brand Strategy
The interview process felt a bit strange because the emails came from an initial and last name, making it hard to tell if it was a legitimate contact or a scam. The first step involved a pre-recorded interview where I had to answer several questions. While the concept is okay, it was quite stressful having only a limited time to record my responses.
- Can you explain how you would allocate a budget of $_____?
Events Assistant
I applied on the Chiefs career site and got an email for a one-way virtual interview. I did the virtual interview, which had 3 questions. Each question gave me 1 minute to prepare before it automatically started recording. I could re-record each question up to 3 times. After finishing, I messaged the hiring manager on Linkedin, but I was totally ghosted and never heard back from the Chiefs.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Brand and Partnership Marketing Manager
I went through a really drawn-out and uncommunicative interview process for the Sr. Manager of Brand and Partnership Marketing role. It started with a recorded video interview back in May. I tried reaching out several times, but I barely heard anything and got no feedback until July, which was two whole months later. Waiting that long and not getting updates was super frustrating. I know hiring takes time, but being more open and responsive would make a big difference for candidates. Getting an update or some useful feedback would have been great after putting in so much effort. I hope they can step up their communication and feedback game.
- Can you outline a campaign you would propose?
Operations
Had 2 phone interviews, they were pretty basic, asking about my course curriculum and past experiences. If you're close to the KC area, they'll do a 1:1 interview. The second round was with a department manager, and the first was with an HR recruiter.
- Can you share an instance where you faced and overcame adversity?
- What draws you to wanting to join the Chiefs organization?
- How familiar are you with the NFL?
