Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kaiser Family Foundation.
Analyst
I was emailed to set up a virtual interview with someone who is currently in the role. It was scheduled and conducted pretty quickly. Overall, it was a simple process, but I didn't end up getting an offer.
- Can you tell me about your background in reproductive health litigation?
Analyst
The first interview was with a senior person and it went well, mostly behavioral questions. The second interview was with a junior person, who was junior to the role, and didn't know much about healthcare. This person asked vague, open-ended questions. I don't think S/he knew the answers and said things like 'yeah you can't be an expert at writing.' It was very judgemental and bad interviewing style. They had already hired someone and then months later emailed to say I wasn't moving forward. Unprofessional.
- What factors would you take into account before writing something?
Policy Analyst
I interviewed with several people, and then they offered me the job. They really dug deep to make sure I knew my stuff, had done similar work before, and was ready to jump on different projects.
- Could you tell me about your experience with analysis?
