The interview process involved a screener call, followed by a hiring manager interview, and then was supposed to be a panel interview. I found the whole thing pretty disrespectful. The job was advertised as remote, but they kept asking if I could relocate to Alameda during the initial interviews. The hiring manager even admitted they'd rather have someone local if everything else was equal. Then, halfway through, I was asked to do a writing assignment. After that, it went silent for over a month, even after I followed up, and then I got a rejection email out of the blue. It felt like a waste of my time and misleading advertising – don't say it's remote if you really want someone on-site.

The interview process was thorough, structured, and well-organized. It included several rounds, each focused on different aspects like technical knowledge, strategic thinking, collaboration, and cultural fit. The team was exceptionally welcoming and transparent, clearly demonstrating the company's people-centered culture. Each conversation was insightful, allowing plenty of time for me to ask questions and engage in meaningful dialogue.

I got contacted on LinkedIn for this job. First, I had a quick call with the recruiter to chat about who I am, what the job is about, and what they expect. After that, I had a 30-minute call with the hiring manager. Then, I went through a panel interview which was three rounds, each lasting 45 minutes, with two people who currently work there. To wrap things up, I had one last call with the recruiter.

Behavioral Presentation

I went through three stages: first a recruiter screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, and finally a panel presentation. The hiring manager interview was a bit rough because it seemed like they hadn't looked at my resume or any notes, asking me questions I'd already answered and having awkward silences while they tried to figure out what to ask. The panel interview had about seven people and was focused on performance management, touching on how some teams deal with involuntary turnover. After that, I heard nothing back, which is always disappointing after going through a whole process.
