I had an initial conversation with a litigation partner. It was a very casual, professional, and informative discussion. The partner seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me and assessing our mutual fit. I didn't feel any pressure, and actually welcomed the approach. Had 2 interviews. First was in person at the Brisbane office with HR and 2 partners. Second was a follow up with the HR Manager from Sydney via Teams. Standard interview questions were asked about my experience. The process was easy and I was offered the position on the same day as the second interview.

It was a very impersonal telephone interview. The interviewer wasn't friendly or courteous. There were strong hints that they weren't interested in hiring someone older with lots of legal experience. They mentioned being 'over qualified' and having 'another candidate in mind,' then ended the call.
