Internal Candidate
It was a pretty smooth process, but there were quite a few interviews. I had three interviews that were all pretty similar in terms of the questions they asked to figure out where I would fit in. I really liked the people I spoke with.
- Could you share a bit about your professional background and personal life?
Sales Manager
Applied on line, recruiter contacted me for a 1st interview. Then there was an extensive in line assessment. After passing telephone and on line screening, I went to two more, one hour plus interviews with location managers at their facilities. After passing both of those interviews, I was then asked to come back to a location one hour away for an interview with a VP of sales and a VP of HR. I had well over 40 hours invested in the interview process over almost 6 weeks, then received an email that they were moving into other candidates. I was told I was one of many that had gone through the process and then did not meet the VP approval.
- What are the typical interview questions?
- Nothing out of the usual, apparently they are looking for something else.
Technical Recruiter
The interview process started off well, with the Lead Recruiter reaching out quickly to set up a phone interview. That call went fine, and I was then scheduled for a virtual interview with the Recruiter and Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition. I thought that one went okay. It took nearly two months to hear back, and when I did, it was to be told they were going in a different direction. I only found this out after emailing the Recruiter to express my frustration. They did call to apologize and sent a follow-up email confirming my rejection, which was already pretty clear. Overall, my experience with JX Enterprises was pretty negative.
- Would you be okay with traveling to different technical colleges?
Integrated Marketing Specialist
The interview process started in May with a video interview with the hiring manager and an online questionnaire. This was followed by a second interview with the VP. The VP, who seemed to be the owner's daughter, was micromanaging and made the hiring manager uncomfortable. After weeks of no response to my follow-ups, I didn't hear back until July. Ultimately, they promoted someone internally. I feel like I dodged a bullet.
