I originally applied for one job, but after the first Zoom call, they said I was too qualified for it. So, they set up another interview for a sales role. I met with the CEO and two other employees, and it seemed to go well. Then, they told me I'd be a better fit for their property manager job. That interview also went smoothly, and they invited me for a final in-person shadowing interview. I didn't end up getting the job. Honestly, the whole thing felt way too long for a job that doesn't pay much.

The interview process was alright, though I didn't appreciate the initial "just a chat" vibe since it's a business interview. Being too casual might not fit the culture, so introverts beware. Otherwise, it was a standard interview. The interviewers were enthusiastic. My main gripe is that this company tends to ghost candidates after interviews, which I find unacceptable given the basic courtesy of an automated email. It reflects poorly on their systems. This whole process is draining, involving feeler questions, a personality test, multiple interviews, and even a shadow period. A contact also mentioned high turnover (4 property managers in 2 years), and frankly, most of us don't need another toxic "we're family" environment. I was fine not hearing back. Plus, the idea of ownership PTO seemed like a scam after I looked into it more.

The interview process was mostly standard, but included a shadow experience and a project. Normally I wouldn't do unpaid work, especially for a lower-paying role, but I was willing to because I want to break into real estate and my marketing background isn't a direct match yet. I knew the job posting said real estate knowledge was a plus. Honestly, asking for unpaid work felt off from the start. All those interview hours, the in-person work, for no offer – it just feels like they don't respect people's time. The shadow part didn't really show me what the day-to-day would be like, and they seemed more focused on the project I did. They wanted graphics, feedback on properties, and a mock listing. A lot of their conversation during this time was about their lunch and office gossip, which made it hard to focus on the project. In the end, they said they were going with someone else already in the pipeline, which feels inconsiderate after all the time I put in. At least a more detailed explanation with constructive feedback would show they had a real reason. Super disappointed with this company, and I bet others will be too.

The interview was 30 minutes and I spoke with two women, one from HR and the other my potential manager. They asked me to write down 5 questions to ask myself, which we then discussed in detail. The company culture is very young, with most employees under 32, which they described as "brotastic". I felt the interview went well, and I was well-qualified given my age (27) and experience, but I wasn't hired because they decided to interview other candidates.
