First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JVS Boston.
Career Coach
So, there were three interviews. First, a 1:1 Zoom chat, then a group thing, and finally, a client interview to make sure it was a good fit. They were all about feedback and working together, and everyone was really chill and shared stuff.
- What's your approach when a client sets a goal that seems unrealistic for their job search?
Program Manager
I interviewed for a new grant-funded position where the main goal was to build and launch a completely new program. I actually liked the interview process overall, but unfortunately, after the second round, they ghosted me. I tried reaching out but never heard back.
- Can you share your experience with building new initiatives from scratch?
Employment Specialist
I had a phone chat with HR first, where they asked about my experience in job placement and making resumes. Then, I met with the department manager to talk about my past work and how I'd handle connecting with a potential employer. They also had me do a mock employer recruitment meeting, showing how I'd promote our services and clients to build a partnership.
- Describe your approach to engaging with an employer.
- In what ways would you promote our services to prospective employers?
Intern
I had an initial phone call with the manager of volunteer resources. She mentioned she would connect me to the program lead, so I could set up an in-person interview. About a week later, I scheduled my in-person interview with my future mentor. This interview felt more like an orientation and a discussion about my interests and goals. I received a job offer at the end of this interview.
- Could you explain your motivation for wanting to join JVS Boston?
