JVM Lending Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process started with a brief phone call. Then, I took an online personality test, which was quite interesting. This was followed by a one-hour assessment where I answered personal questions and corrected grammar mistakes. After that, there was a one-hour video interview. The final step involved an in-person interview in Walnut Creek. I really enjoyed the entire JVM interview experience. The questions were engaging, and everyone I met made me feel welcome and comfortable. Although I didn't accept their offer, I have a very high opinion of JVM and their interview process!

The recruiter was great and super helpful, which was the only good thing. But, like others mentioned, it's a tough process with lots of steps and tests. The interview itself was on Zoom with two team members. I got the vibe they weren't really focused on my interview, more like it was just another task. One of them even seemed like she just came from the gym, which felt unprofessional and made me feel like I wasn't taken seriously. I had a feeling I wouldn't get the job because of the overall vibe during the interview.

This process was too long and dragged out. One personality test, two panel interviews, and an hour long paper test. They focus too much on culture - while I do agree company culture is important, sometimes just focusing on how a person can contribute to the culture is not enough. JVM shouldn't waste candidate's time with such an elongated process if they have a clear cut opinion of what type of person fits their "strong culture".

Before the phone interview, I had to complete two personality assessments: a DISC test and a value assessment from Tony Robbins. These tests were helpful in understanding my fit for the role, and I felt the results accurately reflected me. Following the tests, there was a phone interview, and I think an in-person visit to the office was planned afterward. Unfortunately, I didn't proceed beyond the phone interview stage.
