Nutrition Consultant
It was a pretty straightforward phone interview with management. The first part was a small group session, and then the second was a one-on-one. They'll ask about your animal experience and really like hearing stories about your own pets.
- Tell me about the pets you own.
Veterinarian
The interview process started fast, faster than usual for the current job market. First, I talked to a recruiter, then had a video call with the district area manager. After that, I interviewed via video with the CEO and the President. I thought the call went well and was waiting to hear back. But the recruiter ghosted me, and didn't respond even after I reached out twice. Then, my info was passed to other recruiters for different roles that weren't what I initially wanted. Also, the pay they discussed wasn't enough for the experience and workload they expected, especially with a professional degree. You need to pay vets properly, especially experienced ones. Our education costs a lot, our experience is valuable, and there aren't many of us. It was a disappointing experience that made me view the brand negatively. People should be treated with respect. If they can't even send an email after a tough interview process, they probably won't respect you as an employee.
- Tell me about your open-mindedness and innovative thinking, especially concerning pet nutrition.
- How do you approach pet nutrition with an open mind and innovative thinking?
Nutrition Consultant
It was a really easy interview to get through and they got back to me super quickly. The interview was virtual. I got an email saying they wanted to interview me. After I replied, I could either get the teams app or use my computer. It was all very straightforward to get set up and use.
- Can you share your name and where you are from?
- Are you feeling good about this position?
- Do you have a clear understanding of the job duties?
Recruiter
The interview process felt really confusing and disorganized. I had a phone screen on June 7th, 2019, which went well. The recruiter cut it short because of work stuff but apologized and said she'd call back on June 12th, 2019, to let me ask any remaining questions and also mentioned bringing me in for an in-person interview. June 12th went by, and I didn't hear anything. I sent a couple of follow-ups with no response. Finally, on June 17th, I heard back from the recruiter, apologizing for the delay because she was traveling for work and they had decided to put the job on hold. Then, on June 21st, I got a standard rejection email saying they'd moved on with another candidate. I get that they might choose someone else who's a better fit, but what's disappointing is that we talked about how important candidate experience is during the phone screen, and she agreed. Candidate experience is something I really care about in my job, so it was a bummer that a company I was excited about had such bad candidate experience and communication.
