First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Just - Evotec Biologics.
Scientist
It was three rounds total. First, a phone screen with an HR person who works out of Europe. Then, a 1:1 with the hiring manager, which was pretty standard. After that, two more 1:1 interviews with managers from teams close to this one. Those were also very standard and essentially asked the same questions as the second interview.
- Could you describe your experience in relation to this position?
Associate Scientist
There were 3 parts to the interview. First a phone screen, then another phone interview, and finally an in-person panel interview. They were 30 minutes, 30 minutes, and 6 hours long respectively. The in-person one was the hardest because it was so long and tiring.
- Tell me about your pipetting technique.
- Can you describe the technical aspects of Elisa assays?
Associate Scientist
I had a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager, then a 5.5-hour interview session. This session was split into 30-minute meetings with different people each time. They said I'd hear back by early the next week, but I only got a decision after emailing the recruiter, who then checked with the hiring manager. It's a bit much to put candidates through six hours of interviews and then not follow up promptly. The people were nice, but they really need to respect people's time and stick to their own timelines.
- What sparked your interest in bioreactors?
- What motivated you to apply for this role at our company?
- Can you tell me more about your background?
Manager
The process had 4 rounds, each about 30 minutes, but no feedback was given for the decision. It took about 3 weeks from the final interview to hear back. I interviewed with a Recruiter, the Hiring Manager, a Panel of peers, and HR. The interview with the hiring manager was a good part, they asked clear questions and gave specific scenarios to work through. Scheduling was easy, and everyone showed up on time, and they were knowledgeable and professional.
- How would you ensure a diverse group of action owners consistently improve on-time completion of a specific action?
