In a room full of applicants, a manager shared about the company as well as his story of not having a college degree and hearing about this job and working his way up to management. I was given a worksheet for busy work while each of us was called in every few minutes for individual interviews. When I was called in, I was asked a few questions about my resume, then the interviewer spoke a lot about the position. At the end he told me to call him in a few hours for their decision. For my part, the interview was 70/30 listening versus speaking. I didn't end up calling.

I arrived at the head office, and initially, there was no one to greet me, just a clipboard to sign in. The recruiter eventually came, and she seemed a bit unsure if she was supposed to interview me, asking if I had been rescheduled, which I said no. She took my resume and told me to wait to be called in. It wasn't the best welcome.

I had called 3 days prior expressing my interest in the role after seeing the job posting in the newspaper. Then, I received a call 2 days later about open interviews happening the next day. I was hired on the spot and started a 3-day orientation.
