First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Juniper Networks.
Systems Engineer
It was super chill, just a few basic networking tech questions. They seemed more keen on knowing if I understood the company and its future plans. I had to prep a quick presentation, but I ended up just talking it through without slides, which I think they appreciated.
- Why are you interested in Juniper?
Systems Engineer
It was a group interview with a Systems Engineer, Systems Engineer Lead, and an Account Manager. First, we had a demo pitching to an IT Manager, where they reviewed how I handled objections. Then, the SE Lead asked basic questions about my technology skills and projects, going into granular detail and asking follow-up questions if my initial answers weren't clear. They also evaluated my personality by presenting hypothetical situations and asking how I'd respond, and why I'd choose a particular course of action.
- Could you explain OSPF & BGP Routing?
- What are your thoughts on GRE & IPSec?
- What are the basics of Firewall functionality?
Systems Engineer
It was a long interview process that stretched over a couple of months. I spoke with my potential colleagues, my boss, other coworkers, and management. After verbally accepting the offer, it took a couple of weeks for the HR paperwork to finalize. The entire process felt so drawn out that I actually reached out to check if everything was okay and even started looking at other opportunities. Since I was already doing contract work for the company, my interview timeline was quicker than others who were hired at the same time. For context, one of those individuals went through 16 interviews.
- Can you describe the technical questions related to the product portfolio?
- What kind of architectural questions were asked?
- Were there questions about specific commands?
